He Marked the Path:
Following the Savior on the Pathway to Peace
by Janine Simons
About this Book:
Have you ever wondered how the scriptures could help potty train a four-year-old, deal with an overbearing boss or cope with any of life’s other challenges? The answers are there, sometimes in precept, but more often in principle. And the key to finding the answers is in recognizing the Savior and the peace He offers. Beginning with a study of The Psalm of Nephi (2 Nephi 4:15-35), He Marked the Path takes the reader through a journey of the scriptures, combined with real-life, and often amusing personal experiences to discover this heavenly peace. “Chapter Checkpoints” throughout the book further guide the reader in his or her own personal quest.
Discussion Questions:
How does Nephi's life and circumstances compare to ours today?
What is the purpose of the “three-step forward, two-steps back” kind of experiences we have in life?
Is the Savior’s peace obtainable under any trial or circumstance, even for horrific challenges or abuse?
What are the benefits of regular self-introspection? How can we better incorporate daily or weekly character checkpoints to make sure we are still on the Savior's path? How can we make the scriptures a more integral part of our lives?
What can we do as individuals, communities and congregations to bring about peace in the lives of others?
